Years ago I decided to synergize and energize our ministry. I learned that synergy is the working together of two or more to produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects. The church is one body but it has many members with many different gifts and abilities. The Lord places each member in the body as it pleases Him. (1 Cor. 12:18). God’s gifts please you, but when you use your gifts it pleases God (1 Cor. 12:7-8). The goal is to have all informed and involve within the ministry. A man was working hard to cut down a tree with a dull ax. A wise man said, “If you sharpen your ax, you can do it quicker.” As he panted, he replied, “I’m too busy to take time to sharpen my ax.” Well, you can be active without accomplishments. Use others as the Lord used His different disciples to begin His ministry. What would happen if everyone used their different gifts and abilities? Every need in the church would be met. Realize that synergizing requires both union and unity. You can tie two cats together (union) and still not have unity.“Synergy (Greek) is working together to create something greater than either of you could do alone.Synergy is better than my way or your way. It’s our way.” (Stephen Covey). Synergy is two or morejoining together. So that much more can be accomplishedv (Matt. 18:20). Synergy is using others within their “sweet-spots” to accomplish more. Everyone loves their “happy place” or “sweet-spot.” It is our differences that make us more powerful and profitable. No big bosses but big blessings. No competition and no conflicts. TEAM:Together Everyone Accomplishes More. Synergizing must be taught, sought, and wrought. Synergizing begins with leadership then flows throughout the ministry and continues to grow and flow. When you stop knowing, you stop growing and flowing. We can do more than thee. Everyone does what they can with what they“hath” (2 Cor. 8:12).All that remains undone, unfinished becomes useless. An unwritten book is never read. You are accountable for things done and things left undone (Rom.14:12). Stay involved in the Great Commission to evangelize the world and edify the church. So sharpen your ax, or better yet get a chain saw.Go far beyond expectations. When the early church synergized and energized, they turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). One can do much, but many can do much more! “One can win games, but teams win championships” (Wooden). I did it, and It worked! Synergize and Energize Your Ministry.
