Your Wall Will Fall

How Israel focused and faced the
walls of Jericho! And ye shall compass the city…the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days on the seventh day… they compassed the city seven times… the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city… the wall fell down flat” (Josh. 6:16-20) Jericho was a walled fortresscity standing between the Israelites and Canaan. The Lord gave a strange command to the 603,550 (Ex. 38:26) men of war (about size of Nashville, TN). They were to march one time around the city for 6 days. Then march 7 times on the 7th day for a total of 13 times. They did not understand but they obeyed. They stepped in silence. They resisted the urge to respond. As they marched they looked for a small sign as a crack or a crumble. Nothing! Silent faith did not make sense. Finally the 13 weary walks were finished. They prepared for battle, but were told to shout, not shoot. Have faith, not fight. They did! The walls fellwithout a fight. It worked! Not just a crack, but the walls fell flat. God did for them what they could not do for themselves. Learnthat there will be walls in your life that block God’s blessings. Focus on His Word, not the wall. You see problems notpossibilities. Don’t focus on why – Focus on Who! Your need is to trust and obey. Respond not resist. Faith is believing what is not seen (Heb.11:1). They were weary, but they kept walking. Let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap if we faint not” (Gal. 6:9). don’t lose heart. Keep walking. What if they had: marched just 6 days – marched only once on the 7th day – failed to shout? No results! Why? Partial obedience is full disobedience. The wall must fall. Why? On the other side are grapes instead of garlic. The promised land of milk and honey. So face your wall with faith. Don’t fret – have faith. Don’t try – trust! Focus on your walk not your wall. Keep walking and waiting! Let the Lord work all things for your good and His glory(Rom. 828). He can do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Have faith in God (Mark 11:22). Trust God! When your wall falls wonder what’s waiting for you on the other side? Keep walking and waiting y’all. Your wall will fall!
