A Christmas Gift From God

Dr. Ted Camp Founder, Overseer

As you open your Christmas cards and gifts this Christmas, don’t ignore your card and gift from God. Think about it! The Scriptures are God’s Christmas card to you, and Christ is God’s gift to you. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isa. 9:6). “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. (Luke 2:11-12). “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). Think about it! He was the Son in the manger. He was the Servant in life. He was our Sacrifice on the cross, He was our Substitute in the tombHe was our Saviour as He rose from the grave. The greatest gift of Christmas is Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Rom. 6:23). Christianity is not a religion but a relationship. “If our greatest need had been education, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer. But our greatest need was forgiveness. So God sent us a Saviour.” – Roy Lessin. Without Christ, there would be no Christmas. The Scriptures are God’s Christmas card to you, and Christ is God’s gift to you. This Christmas read your card and open your gift from God. “Merry Christmas” – God.
