Everything seems to be changing. We have changed presidents. We have seen people change from writing things on calendars to punching them into their phones. We recently changed our clocks forward one hour. I notice that many churches have changed from hymnals to having words projected on the wall. We have changed from old “drive-in” restaurants to “drive-through” restaurants. We have changed from telling our children to go change the TV channel to pushing the remote control. As much as things have changed, I am thankful that some things remain the same. The wages of sin is still death; but I am glad that the grace of God is still available. The prayers of the believer are still heard by God and answered according to His will. The Gospel is still the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes. That is all made possible because Jesus Christ rose from the dead. We will again celebrate the resurrection of Christ on Easter, but we celebrate that resurrection every Sunday we meet. Paul wrote very clearly; “And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins” (I Cor. 15:17). I am glad for the verse that follows: “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (I Cor. 15:20). As much as things change, the event of the resurrection is still where our faith is anchored!
Silent Word Ministries is changing along with other ministries in using the technology and advancements we all enjoy in our day; but we remain constant in our commitment to preaching the unchangeable Gospel. As Dr. David Snyder (BIMI) says, “It’s alright to get out of the box, but not out of the book.” The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ will remain in the book as our foundational truth. Our goal is to always be involved in the Great Commission of going into all the world, teaching, and preaching the Gospel. This past year we had 726 reported salvation decisions from all areas of our 24/7/365 ministry. Your monthly gifts enable us to continue to do what we believe God has called us to do. Without you doing your part through prayer and financial support, we missionaries could not do our part.
We want to assure you that every gift given to SWM and SWM Missionaries is being used to further the Gospel in the Deaf world and also in the Hearing world. We are not narrowing our aim when it comes to the people we want to reach. We are broadening our vision to reach more than ever before. Our free Deaf Bible Institute will be expanded even more in the days ahead to reach more Deaf! Our free newspaper continues and is expanding with the Internet to reach many unreached Deaf worldwide. Our free tracts continue to go to both Hearing and Deaf! All these things are happening because of your partnership with us in doing our part to fulfill the Great Commission of reaching the deaf worldwide.
We remain committed to the fundamentals of the Word of God. We are committed to the fundamentals of the faith in this ever-changing world. Please be assured that our commitment to the Scriptures is unwavering. We still believe and practice the thought that there is no work of God without the Word of God! We are fully committed to standing faithfully on the Word of God, and advancing with the Word of God in any way possible. Please continue to pray for us as we seek wisdom in the expanding and exciting video outreach ministry. Ask God to give us His leadership and wisdom into new outreaching areas. Our goal is to focus on the flow of the Holy Spirit until we overflow to others.
While much has changed in our world today, we remain committed to preaching and teaching the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has been, is, and will be the focus of our ministry. We believe His return could be any day now, and we want to be found faithful in spreading the Gospel as far as we can until that moment. Thank you for your part in SWM. Please read our missionary reports below and pray for their needs. We will do all we can to ensure that your gifts will be used to further the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth.
Yours for Jesus’ Sake,
II Corinthians 4:5

SWM Missionaries – Ministry of Helps
“Helping Churches Fulfill The Great Commission To The Deaf World”
Jon and Diane Barr conducted Fantastic Saturdays in Orlando, Florida, and in Trenton and Atlanta, Georgia. Those who came to the meetings enjoyed the theme of “I’ll Say Yes!” In Florida, three children said “Yes” to accepting the Lord as their Savior! Others made “Yes” decisions to work with Deaf ministry and to surrender to the Lord’s will for their lives.
David and Vicki Bennett are thankful for the open doors for having Deliberate Discipleship Retreats. The most recent one was in Ottawa, Kansas, with host pastor Mark Truitt. David has also been teaching classes on Spiritual Gifts in two different local churches.
Reed and Donna Condra have spoken several times recently for churches and special functions in Trenton and Ringgold, Georgia. They will soon begin teaching a Sunday School class for couples at Harvest Baptist Church of the Deaf in Ringgold.
Jay and Cathy Savelle praise the Lord that their prayer cards and brochures are printed and ready for use. Their first missionary letter was recently sent to inform people of their ministry.
Allen Snare is thrilled to have witnessed to a deaf man from Pennsylvania on video phone. The man got saved! Allen also preached for Deaf ministries in Virginia and Tennessee, and for Fantastic Saturdays in Trenton and Atlanta, Georgia.
Paul and Rachel Strosnider praise the Lord that Wendy, a deaf visitor at church, trusted Christ as her Savior. Also, Paul led their chiropractor’s assistant, Desi, to the Lord! Work is progressing on the renovations for their rented church rooms. They are now about 2/3 complete!
Bruce and Amanda Stuart are excited to be entering the spring Missions Conference season! They had a full schedule in March and are praying for their April and May schedules to completely fill (there are a few openings at this time). Several churches have indicated they will begin supporting the Stuarts soon!
Jim and Terry Bracelin presented their ministry in Snellville, Georgia, and 4 people responded to the Gospel. When Jim preached in prison, 22 responded to the Gospel, and 2 Deaf ladies professed salvation at the Fantastic Saturday in Rhode Island.
SWM praises the Lord for one of our best years in 2016.
Jon and Diane Barr ask you to pray for three more Fantastic Saturdays this spring – in Rock Hill, South Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; and Covina (Los Angeles area), California. Please pray for people to say “Yes” to any decision the Lord wants them to make. Please pray also for wisdom and direction in conducting the day-to- day operations of the many ministries of SWM.
Tabitha Beam requests prayer as she continues interpreting for a deaf lady and teaching signs at a church in Tennessee on Sundays. Please pray that God will answer some unspoken requests in this outreach.
David and Vicki Bennett have an immediate need for a ministry vehicle to replace their current one that had served them well for over 330,000 miles, but now has completely stopped running.
Reed and Donna Condra ask prayer for the new couples Sunday School class they are teaching and for Donna’s health. She has been battling a winter flu.
Jay and Cathy Savelle have been invited by 3 pastors in Germany to go ASAP to teach Soul Winning classes and help establish a “Marketplace Ministry” in their churches. This trip will last approximately 3 weeks and the cost will be around $3,500. Please pray for this mission work. Donations for the need can be sent to SWM, designated “Savelle Mission Trip.”
Paul and Rachel Strosnider ask prayer for Wendy and Desi to grow spiritually after their recent salvation decisions. Please pray also for revival in the hearts of their church members. Pray for Rachel as she continues personal discipleship with 4 ladies from the church.
Bruce and Amanda Stuart request prayer for health and strength as they continue to travel, presenting their heart for reaching the lost in Gabon. Pray for wisdom for them as they make decisions and prepare for ministry in Gabon. They are praying their support level will go over 25% soon. Please pray also for some unsaved family
members and for comfort as Amanda’s grandma recently passed away. Prayer is needed also for God’s wisdom in getting missionary housing in the Northeast later this year.
SWM encourages you to pray for more laborers, both Deaf and hearing. SWM needs more missionaries, especially Deaf, regional directors, and someone to help in technical areas.
