2015-11 – November

November 2015

Dear Friends,

This month we are reminded to give thanks to God. Paul wrote, “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now” (Philippians 1:3-5). Let me share with you some special things for which we are thankful…

We are thankful for each church and individual that invests in praying for and financially supporting our ministry. We realize that we are at the mercy of God to work on our behalf. SWM may be few in number, but we are thankful that “… the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few” (I Samuel 14:6). Thank you for standing with us on your knees. Thank you for your sacrificial caring and sharing to keep us on the field. Our goal at SWM is to keep the Great Commission at the top of our priority. We are thankful that we have a great Gospel to take to the world.

We are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of an outreach ministry committed to reaching the deaf worldwide with technology, missionaries, evangelism, Internet, and literature. This year Jon and Diane Barr and me and Terry will have conducted over twenty-five annual Fantastic Saturday meetings across America. These special meetings are designed to reach, teach, and train Deaf and Deaf ministries in local churches to evangelize the deaf in their regions. We thank God for those who have been saved as well as those who have been challenged to dedicate their lives to serving the Lord and the Deaf. As of this letter, SWM has had 489 reported salvation decisions from our varied 365/24/7 worldwide ministry.

We are thankful for the strides SWM International is making. We have two new young couples, Bruce and Amanda Stuart going to Gabon, Africa, and Drew and Melinda Wright going to England. Also Nicole Condra is going to Romania. We are thrilled to think about how God has touched the lives of these young missionaries to join with us to make the Great Commission become reality! Pray for them as they are on deputation and scheduling meetings. They are worthy of your support.

We are thankful for your generous giving that has enabled our “SWMI Teams” to hand out Gospel DVD’s in DeafNation Expos here in the northeast, both in Pittsburgh, PA and in Edison, NJ. We praise the Lord for the open door to present the Gospel to thousands of deaf at these expos! Plans are being made for a major push to have a team at the DeafNation Expo in Las Vegas, NV in 2016 under the leadership of David Bennett. These are incredible opportunities to fulfill the great commission.

We thank God for His limitless vision for the world that allows us to go beyond the previous boundaries we may have known. We are thankful for improved video equipment, technology, Deaf Bible Institute (over 1,000 deaf have enrolled) now on-line, and the Internet outreach ministries that allows us to reach far beyond our expectations. Technology has opened a new and larger outreach ministry to the Deaf.

We thank God for all those who volunteer to help us with the newspaper, printing new materials, producing DVDs, mowing yards, and keeping our daily operations going forward. With so many things to be thankful for this month, we wanted to be sure that you know you have been a blessing to SWM. We hope that as you think about SWM, you will be thankful for being a part of our ministry. You help keep us actively reaching the Deaf world for Christ! Thank You!

His Servant,
Jim  Bracelin

Praise Reports

Jon and Diane Barr are thankful for the missions conference they were a part of in West Virginia. The church there has both a local and worldwide vision for Deaf. Jon also conducted a Fantastic Saturday in Washington and meetings in British Columbia, while Diane attended the Deaf Baptist Ladies Retreat in Pennsylvania. God blessed in all these meetings with opportunities to encourage and help others involved in Deaf ministry.

Tabitha Beam praises the Lord for increased support. She is now at the 49% level!

David and Vicki Bennett are looking forward to getting their visas very soon for their trip to Brazil in November. The preliminary work at the consulate went very smoothly. They also loved the opportunity they had to teach Deaf people and talk about the Deaf mission field with a church in South Carolina.

Reed and Donna Condra were recently involved in the annual Bible conference at Harvest Deaf Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia. Two people were saved during the meetings, and the Condras were surprised to find out that one of the other speakers had learned sign language from them over 30 years ago!

Allen Snare praises the Lord for His blessings in recent meetings in Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. He also led a deaf man to the Lord during a recent Deaf men’s activity.

Paul and Rachel Strosnider are amazed with the Lord’s work in their church in the past month. They have had 5 deaf people join the church; 3 deaf and 1 hearing make salvation decisions; and 6 deaf people surrender their lives to the Lord! Several visitors have come, others are considering joining the church, and attendance has increased. Praise God for what He has done and is doing!

Bruce and Amanda Stuart report that they have recently made some good contacts for future meetings and support! They had recent meetings in Illinois and Missouri, saw 2 people make salvation decisions, and gained some new support!

Prayer Requests

Jon and Diane Barr ask your prayers for their last Fantastic Saturday of the year – in Virginia. Please also continue to pray for the video project – Creation to Christ… for Minimal Language Deaf. This is a great opportunity to reach many Deaf people throughout the world who know little or no sign language.

Bud and Jenna Ring ask prayer for Christine, one of the deaf ladies in their church, who has multiple brain tumors. Medicine does not seem to be helping. Please pray also for Christine’s mom and niece who are both unsaved. The Rings are also seeking God’s wisdom and timing for beginning deputation.

Allen Snare would appreciate your prayers as he preaches and teaches in three Fantastic Saturdays in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Please pray also for his safety and God’s blessing as he travels and preaches in Virginia and Tennessee and attends his son John’s wedding in Ohio.

Bruce and Amanda Stuart need your prayers as they travel to meetings and mission conferences in Louisiana, Massachusetts, and Michigan. Please pray also for the salvation of two young men in the St. Louis area.

SWM encourages you to pray for more laborers, into the Deaf world. both Deaf and hearing. SWM needs more missionaries, especially Deaf, regional directors, and someone to help in technical areas.

SWM International is hosting a missions trip to the 2016 Deaf Nation World Expo in Las Vegas next summer. Please pray for wisdom in planning that trip and for those on the team to have a burden for people and the courage to reach out to them with the Gospel. Also, please pray for a team to the Deaf Olympics in 2017 in Turkey, a predominantly Muslim country.
