Dear Friends and Supporters,

“The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” – Psalm 126:3
“That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this…” – Isaiah 41:20
pl-08-01-15Since the beginning of Silent Word Ministries in 1993 in Trenton,pl-08-02-15 Georgia, I have continually said, “Come and see what the Lord hath done!” We started with a 486 computer, and a copier in a converted two-car garage office. We also had thousands of names of the Deaf, Deaf leaders, Deaf ministries, a heart to help them,pl-08-03-15 and 20 years of valuable experience from the Bill Rice Ranch. My first thoughts were, “Wonder what Paul would do if he worked with the deaf?” I quickly realized that at that time, most of the deaf ministries had untrained lay-people who knew some signs, but not how to build deaf ministries. We decided to continue “Fantastic Saturdays,” inviting Deaf, Deaf leaders and ministries to come to our area annual meetings. It worked! At that time, we did not have any competition in the areas of printing, teaching and training others to minister to the Deaf. Soon we published a newspaper for the Deaf, a Deaf Bible Institute, and a printing ministry. Churches, friends, and ministries who shared our burden to reach the deaf world began to support and pray for our ministry. Now, over 20 years later, we still say, “Come and see what the Lord hath done.” The ministry has far exceeded our expectations and abilities. When you see the work, you quickly know that the hand of the Lord has blessed His work. Isaiah 41:20 describes our ministry, “That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this…” It seems that it all started at a pl-08-05-15board meeting in our living room when Carlene said to the board, “I want my home back.” One of our board members responded with donated land. Soon the Men of Action team pl-08-04-15responded by building three buildings. The people responded, and the buildings were built. From the beginning, the Lord has given us the right people at the right time. SWM now has 14 missionary families serving (pictures). We continue to say, “Come and see what the Lord hath done.” He has done “great things” for us.

SWM Report – This year we have had 285 salvation reported decisions in the many areas of our 24/7/365 ministry. We are thankful for you who support the SWM home office, and SWM missionaries, and for you who send special gifts. Our goal is to “Help churches fulfill the Great Commission to the Deaf world.” Because of your prayers and support, many Deaf will hear in Heaven! When in the area, please come visit SWM! “Come and see what the Lord hath done!”
