Merry Christmas – A Free Christmas Gift

Christmas time is a time of gifts. All people like to get gifts. This Christmas God has a free gift just for you. Are you interested? Think of it! You can receive a gift from God in Heaven! SWM has offered many gifts, but this is the greatest gift ever given. It is a special gift from God. This 2013 could be your best Christmas ever! This special gift can be yours!

The Giver – God is the giver of this special gift. God offers you eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ. “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish.” (John 10:28). Only God can give eternal life. The gift of eternal life, Jesus Christ, is from God. No preacher, church, or religion can give eternal life. God is the giver, and Jesus Christ is the gift.

The Special Gift – The free gift comes only from God. God offers this gift to everyone in the world, which includes you. “For God so loved the world (you), that he gave (gift) his only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever (all) believeth in him should not perish (in Hell), but have everlasting life (in Heaven)” (John 3:16). The gift is God’s Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins. He was buried as your substitute for sin. He arose from the grave as your Saviour. This is called the good news of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. His death, burial and resurrection has accomplished our salvation. There are many churches and religions, but only one Gospel that gives an eternal gift of life in Heaven. Do you believe that Jesus died, was buried, and arose to forgive your sins? If you will believe this, you can be saved. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

The Receiver – First you believe, secondly you receive. A gift is not a gift until it is given and received. You must believe and by faith receive the gift. As you receive the gift, you also turn from your sin to live for Him. A gift cannot be forced upon you. Once you receive the free gift, it becomes yours forever. Once you receive the gift, it no longer belongs to the giver, but it is yours. A gift cannot be taken back, or it is not a gift. This is a free gift. If you work for it, it is not a gift. When you receive the gift of Jesus Christ, you also receive the gift of eternal life. The Lord says, “And I give (gift) unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish” (John 10:28). When you receive Christ, you also receive eternal life. God has only given one gift to take away the curse of sin in Adam (Romans 5:12). “…The free gift…and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:15). When you believe in Christ as your Saviour, then your next need is to receive Him. “But as many as received him (Jesus), to them gave he power to become the sons of God (in family of God), even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12). No one is saved without the Gospel – No one! No one can go to Heaven without Christ – No one!

The Gift is Eternal Life in Heaven – “For the wages of sin is death; but the (free) gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). God offers everyone the free gift of eternal life. If it is not free, it is not a gift. If I give you a gift with an invoice for you to pay, it is not a gift. If I take the gift back, it is not a gift. If you work for it, it is not a gift. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9). All these verses simply prove without doubt that salvation is a free gift from God. It is not by works or righteous acts. All the work of salvation is completely done for you by the Lord Jesus Christ. To be saved there is no need for you to perform more works or to add more merits, but simply believe and receive the Lord Jesus Christ. This is because none of your good works is acceptable to God. There are about 150 verses that simply say: believe and be saved; believe and have eternal life; and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead (Romans 10:9). When you believe and receive Jesus Christ you have eternal life. “He that hath the son hath life; he that hath not the son of God hath not life (I John 5:11-12). God only sees two kinds of people, (1) Those who “hath” the Son, and (2) Those who “hath not” the Son. I am not asking are you in the church, but are you “in Christ”? Hell is filled with people who had good intentions of being saved, but died without Christ. Be saved today. Tomorrow could be too late. Believe and receive God’s gift of eternal life right now! This free gift has your name on it, and it is waiting for you to receive it. You have the choice to receive or reject God’s gift. We want you to go to Heaven with us. Will you receive it?

[ ] “Yes, I now understand I am a sinner and I cannot save myself, but I need a Saviour to forgive my sin. I believe Christ died, was buried, and raised to be my Saviour. I now receive the free gift of Jesus Christ. Give me the promise of eternal life. I am now saved according to the Scriptures!”
