I Only Believe What I Understand

I Only Believe What I Understand

I understand that I don’t understand. There is much more I don’t know than I know. An atheist said to Dr. Walter Wilson, “I only believe what I can understand.”  Dr. Wilson replied, “Can you understand how a black cow eats green grass and gives white milk that churns into yellow butter?”  Another atheist proudly stated to Billy Sunday, “Well, Thank God! I just proved that there is no God.”  Billy Sunday asked him, “How many legs does a fly have?  When a fly lands on the ceiling does it flip over or go in upside down?”  The atheist said, “Well, I don’t know.”  Billy Sunday then stated, “If you can’t tell me anything about a little fly, don’t try to tell me about God.” A scientist shook his fist towards Heaven and said, “God, we don’t need you anymore. We can replace you by cloning and science.”  God responded and told him to make a man.  As the scientist reach down to get a handful of dirt, God said, “Get your own dirt.”

I don’t understand why cockroaches die on their backs with their legs upward.  I don’t understand why a cow always rises on her two hind legs, a horse on his two front legs and an elephant on all four legs at the same time.  I don’t understand why peanuts are always crooked. I don’t understand how an egg in 21 days can become feathers. I don’t understand how a caterpillar with fourteen legs becomes a butterfly. I don’t understand how a dog sweats through its tongue and paws. I  don’t understand electricity. I don’t understand how radio and television works. I don’t understand how music is in empty space all around me and all I need is a receiver to hear it. I don’t understand why my heart beats 4,200 times an hour without an off and on switch. I don’t understand gravity, space, creation, but I believe it, because I believe the Bible. Also, it is easy for me to understand why I love God, but  I don’t understand how a great God could love me.  I don’t understand, but I believe it, and I have experienced it. I don’t understand but I am very grateful that He loves me.
