Dear Pastor,
Did you know that there are over 4,000,000 deaf or hard of
hearing folks that live in the Northeastern part of the United States? Did you
know that statistics tell us that 95% of deaf individuals do not attend a church
regularly? Did you know that one of every 1,000 infants is born totally deaf?
Did you know that everyday thirty-three U.S. babies are born with permanent
hearing loss? Did you know that statistics tell us that between 1990 and 2050
(if the Lord tarries His coming) that the number of hearing-impaired Americans
will increase at a faster rate than the total U.S. population?
My name is Jim Bracelin, and my
family and I are missionaries in the Northeastern section of America. We are
called “missionaries to the deaf,” but the reality is that we are missionaries
aimed at reaching the deaf of our region through fundamental, Bible
preaching/teaching, Baptist churches. We have a two-fold ministry thrust to
these kinds of local churches. We can come and teach Sign Language in your
church for one-week and help you get a deaf ministry off the ground. We then
follow-up (as is needed) with a one-week seminar on how to develop your deaf
ministry to mirror the other ministries of your church.
I am hopeful that the above
questions do not drive you away from this packet of information, but that it
will cause you to prayerfully consider if this is the kind of ministry that the
Lord may want you to have in your church. I know that you will think to
yourself, “we don’t have anyone that can help us,” or, “there are no deaf in our
area.” We would love to help you reach this precious group of people that the
cults of America are so strongly pursuing. We know that the Gospel of Jesus
Christ is “the power of God unto salvation to everyone [including the deaf]
that believeth … (Romans 1:16).”
We do not charge a fee for this
ministry. We are missionaries with the goal of reaching the deaf with the
Gospel, and as a result do not come with any kind of hourly rate. We want to
minister to you and your folks, not come with a hand out for pay. Please
prayerfully commit this possibility to prayer, and contact us if you feel that
God is leading you to this kind of ministry. Some detail information about how
to contact us (please feel free to contact us with any questions):
