The Silent Word Newspaper Online Email Edition is a condensed version of the Silent Word Newspaper, which includes articles and some extras. The Silent Word Newspaper is a unique, Christian, 8-page newspaper published every two months by Silent Word Ministries, with a circulation over 13,000. It is sent free, as the Lord provides. Articles are written for Deaf and hearing people. They are Bible-based and include news of interest, spiritual help, fun and humor, or Sign Language helps for hearing people. The Silent Word Ministries Prayer Letter is sent upon request to people who are interested in our unique deaf ministry. This letter is the same as letter sent to monthly supporters, and will advise of events, blessings, and needs at Silent Word Ministries.
The SWM Insider is a short, weekly update of news, prayer requests, and needs around Silent Word Ministries. This newsletter is for our special friends, but is open to all.
ASL Institute is a conference for church interpreters and deaf ministry workers with the goal of helping them improve their signing skills and build their deaf ministries. At the same time SWM conducts a Deaf Bible Conference, so there is a program for everyone in the deaf ministry! Programs for Deaf & Hearing Adults, Classes for Sign Language Beginners (ABCs + 400 Signs), Classes for Intermediate & Above, Fun Bible Classes for Children Ages 4-11, Nursery provided for ages 0-3. The SWM Deaf Men's Retreat is an annual meeting to encourage and challenge Deaf men to live for God. Each year's inspiring theme is a blessing to all who attend. There is preaching, teaching, games, food, fellowship, and fun. Deaf and Hearing men ages 16 and above are welcome. Check the website for current dates, price, and more information.
Fantastic Saturdays and Deaf Days are free, area-wide, all-day workshops for deaf people, deaf ministry workers and hearing people. The day is filled with excitement, encouragement, and fun. Everyone is invited to attend. All teaching will be voiced and signed. SWM literature and materials will be available at discounted prices. Lunch is provided by the host church. This group provides current information about these meetings.
Jon & Diane Barr's Missionary Prayer Letter. Jon and Diane have been missionaries to the Deaf since 1984. This prayer letter shares their blessings and needs as they seek to win Deaf people to Christ and train them. Jon is President of Silent Word Ministries in Trenton, Georgia.
