YOU CAN BE WRONG
One problem that all of us face from past life
and experiences is that we want to be right. Some times we feel that something
is right because it has been done that way for years. Old traditions do not make
new truths. Just because something is old does not mean it is right. Truth is
truth and it is not wrong. Even if a thousand people do something wrong it does
not make it right. There are no gray areas with truth. It is either true or
false, or right or wrong. You can never use wrongs to make a right. It may seem
right but if it is wrong, it is wrong. Today, politicians, people and even
preachers try to change the laws of God to make them conform to this age. But
God does not change his laws for man, but man must change his ways to God. Man
may change laws and make it legal but it does not make it right. The only
absolute is the Word of God. The only assurance is the Word of God.
One night I was preaching in a church. At the
close I usually step down from the pulpit and stand next to my wife. I stepped
down and stood next to my wife and then reached for her hand. The woman next to
me jumped away startled. My wife was in another pew. Red faced, I thought I was
right but I was wrong.
(AP-Arkansas). "A woman in Arkansas parked her
car next to another car with a woman sleeping in it. When she returned from
shopping she looked at the woman in the car. She was sitting with her hands
behind her head but with her eyes open. The woman looked very strange, so she
tapped on the window and said, "Are you okay?" The woman answered, "I've been
shot in the head, and I am holding my brains in." The woman ran into the store
and called the paramedics. They had to break into the car because the door was
locked. When they got in, they found that woman had bread dough on the back of
her head and in her hands. A Pillsbury biscuit can had exploded in the
hot car making a loud explosion like that of a gunshot, and hit her in the head.
When she reached back to find what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was
her brains." She passed out from fright at first, then attempted to hold her
brains in!
Dear friend, you may think you are right
about many things but you can be wrong. Don't die wrong, thinking you are right!
