"Be Nice"

"...walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us..."--Ephesians 5:2a.

Traveling in the ministry gives opportunity to meet many different people. It is surprising sometimes to see the rudeness of people. It is shocking to see the rudeness among Christian people. But it is pleasant to meet Christians who are kind and thoughtful.

In Ephesians 4:32, the Bibles says to "be kind one to another, tenderhearted..." We as Christians need to learn this Bible truth and practice it daily towards one another.

The Bible teaches us that whatever we give, we will get in return. If we are rude and unkind, people will be rude and unkind to us. If we are nice, kind and tenderhearted, then others will be the same to us (Ephesians 6:7).

Today, make a special effort to do something nice for someone. Here are some ideas:

1. Write a note of appreciation to your pastor.
2. Write a note to your pastor's wife.
3. Bake a cake for a neighbor.
4. Buy a small gift for someone.
5. Do something special for your wife/husband.
6. Make a surprise for your children.
7. Visit with a person who is shut-in.
8. Call a friend just to say, "I love you."
9. Volunteer to baby-sit for an overworked mother.

It is true, real Joy means J - Jesus first; O - others second; Y - yourself last. [FCC]

THOT: The only time you should try to "get even" is when someone has been nice to you.

TODAY: Be nice and you will have a nice day.
