A Hug from God

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort" --II Corinthians 1:3.

Our daughter, Karla, was very upset because she had received news that she had made an error on their income tax return. Because of the error, they had to pay a large additional amount. She was visibly upset and their three year old son, Dakota, noticed.

Dakota asked, "What's wrong Mommy, are you sad?" She told him yes she was sad. "I will give you a hug and you'll feel better," he said to her. As he hugged his mom, he could hear her heart beat.

"I can hear your heart Mommy, does God live in your heart?' he asked. Karla answered, "Yes, He does." To that Dakota replied, "God will give you a hug inside and you'll feel better."

Yes, the God of all comfort will give you a hug on the inside. When you are upset, lonely, troubled or sad, run to your Heavenly Father. He will give you comfort and rest or "a hug on the inside." "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, (burdened with sorrow) and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). [FCC]

THOT: Need a hug? Go to God.

TODAY: Cast your cares (troubles) on Him. He cares for you.
