Read: James 4:7-10

Stay Close to God

"Draw (go) nigh (near) to God, and He will draw nigh to you..." -- James 4:18.

To live a victorious Christian life and to be really happy, we must stay close to God. We have the promise if we will go to Him, He will come to us. He will meet us. Here is a plan to follow so that we can stay close to God.

l. Talk to God in Prayer - "Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" (Philippians 4:6). Pray about everything. Stay close to God through prayer. Talk to God in prayer.

2. Let God Talk to You - "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly..." (Colossians 3:16). God has written us a wonderful letter, the Bible. Read part of it every day. It will keep you pure and close to God. Let God talk to you through His Word.

3. Faithfully Attend Church - "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together..." (Hebrews 10:25). Going to church faithfully will keep God close to you. You need to hear God's Word preached and you need the fellowship of other Christians.

4. Tell Others About Him - "...Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee" (Mark 5:19). When you love someone, when you are close to someone, you want other people to know. The more you talk good about someone the closer you get to that person. Stay close to God by telling other people of His love, His salvation and His care.

Remember, to be a victorious Christian. We must stay close to God. If we will go near to God, He will come near to us. [FCC]

TODAY: Get close to God by praying , reading and talking.
